Firstly, love the theme. I think it’s exactly what I’m looking for, however I just wanted to check a couple of things…

In the documentation you describe a ‘Plugger’ system. Does this mean that the sidebar and footer areas don’t use/won’t accept widgets?

Also, has this theme been designed with SEO semantics in mind and will it work with something like the SEO all-in-one plugin?

Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but my custom callout image does not display. In my Admin Panel it’s set to display, the image sizes are correct, and everything seems to be in order, but it does not show.

I’ve created a Portfolio page. By selecting the portfolio template. I then uploaded my photo using the add image tool. However, when I update the page and select ‘view page’, my portfolio page is blank. What step am I missing?

I don’t like the effect of the navigation bar on top e. g. at the blog page. This moving site names while hovering seems to me a little bit annoying.

Will it be possible to remove the effect easily? I want to have just the same navigation bar design without this hover-effect.

To fix the list formatting:

1. Open up style.css in a text editor – Notepad is fine. You can find this file in the theme’s main folder.
2. Add the following lines code to the bottom of the file

With regards to the formatting being lost on the main blog page: This behaviour is intended by default as the theme uses WordPress’ the_excerpt() function to extract the first 55 words of a post and display them on the main blog listing.

This function strips any formatting that you may have applied to the first 55 words of a post. Note that this only occurs on the main blog listing page. The post preservers its formatting when viewed in full.

To change this behaviour and preserve formatting on the blog listing page:

1. Open index.php with a text editor – Notepad is fine. You can find this file in the theme’s main folder, the same location as style.css.
2. Press CTRL +F and search for the_excerpt.
3. Replace the_excerpt with the_content.
4. Optionally, you may change the “Read More” text to one of your choosing

Note that if you do use the the_content() function in place of the_excerpt(), you will need to specify the post cut-off point yourself as WordPress will not automatically take the first 55 words to display on the main blog listing.

You can do this while writing the blog post. There is a button in WordPress’ post editor that will allow you to insert a <!-- more --> tag to specify the cut-off point.

The other option is to use regular text for the first 55 words of a blog post, then include special elements such as lists or block quotes after this point.

The CSS changes above to fix list formatting will be going into the downloadable files asap, pending approval from ThemeForest.

Great theme, and I am enjoying the process so far.

I’m a bit new at Wordpress, but have been reading all the articles and forums I can. With your theme, I am having the same problem as Rowlsten earlier, and that is with the setup of the grid.

I am trying to create my ‘porfolio’ page as a gallery, as you did in your demo. I have read the documentation and I just don’t know what I am doing wrong.

The posts go straight to the blog page, despite creating a ‘portfolio’ category and ticking the box. Any thoughts on why this occurs and how to fix it?

Also, when I put up more than 2 posts on the front page, the third post ends up at the bottom of the page and looks odd. Any thoughts here?

Hmm. Maybe. But I looked at the php code and took out the offending line of code. I dont know how it got in there.

I just bought the theme but I’m having problems with it – .

1. There are no real categories shown (even though they are added).
2. Archives are just static links.
3. I’ve changed the admin email but the same avatar is still showing – maybe it has something to do with the deprecated function get_the_author_email that you are using.

Can you help with these issues?

I love this theme. I got it when I purchased the Envato Birthday Bundle. Because it came in the bundle, I have to download the bundle as a whole, and as a result the update doesn’t show up in my downloads section. I have a few more questions regarding the theme, but the first thing I have to ask is: Do you still support this theme? It has been a long time since the last sign of life from you, both in the comment section and in the support forum. The feedback before I purchased the theme was good, but when I struggle setting it up, I feel a bit left in the dark.

I will ask anyway, as maybe someone else could answer:

• I would like to link the image in posts to a full size image (or to eg. 80% of the screen size) – how do I do this? In the post overview the image links to the post, and in the post I would like to be able to see an even larger version of the image, by clicking it.

• In the demo of the slideshow, a new image “overlays” the one already there, but in my installation, the image already present becomes a grey background before a new image is shown. Not so elegant. How do I fix this?

• Could you give me some feedback on the question about the font, or a link to the font used with information about weighting? I have tried to generate another instance of the font to get Norwegian characters, but the weighting is all wrong.

Thanks for the fast responses. I would have thought that excluding the slider posts from the homepage blog is a very basic requirement. It means that whenever you add a new image it’s also going to be the top blog post – no matter where the image URL happens to point to on the slider.

It’s a great theme, but I think this feature could do with a little more finessing.

Not sure what’s going on with the site I’m working on but for some reason the theme’s fonts and graphics aren’t rendering and the image slider isn’t working.

Do I need to manually copy the font file somewhere? Where do I need to save the social networking icons?

Bought the theme last month but haven’t used it yet, problem is with “thumbnails”.

I don’t like the idea of using ancient old custom fields when more modern themes have “set thumbnail image*.

Having to crop the images manually, uploading, finding the custom field and entering the value takes 2+ minutes rather than the simple way of setting thumbnail which takes 30 secs.

Please consider this in your next update.

How to display full content on front page slideshow

Praise: First I would like to say this is the first theme I have purchased, and I am impressed. I have been trying to learn to build my own custom theme, and this defiantly gives me something to shoot for.

My Question I am trying to display the full content on the front page slideshow. The images I am using aren’t specific to any certain page, so I have created pages specific to the images I need in the slideshow. I used posts first, because this is for a Business Website and doesn’t require posts. After setting up the posts for the images to be set as the featured image, I realized the text was only an excerpt. I had some problems with the posts links working (IIS7, the client insisted… RRR !), so I switched them to pages.

When I tested them on a page that was that I already built the entire text was showing. The client requires custom text for the slider and images, so I added pages with the page title for the heading, and the body for the paragraph beside the images in the slideshow. Now the text is an excerpt again. I have tried to search, and experiment for a solution to no avail. Could you please help me out?

On a side-note: Do you have a better solution than creating pages solely for the purpose of holding featured images? This isn’t a major problem, so if the answer is complicated don’t worry. Thanks again.
