sow this question on page 2 of the comments. I have the same problem. somehow the sidebar ends in the content div, so it goes down below when Im on single post page. Also have noticed that it happens when Im not logged in.

IF you can fix one more thing – the front page PNG files that are shown in the rotator are HUGE . I used a jpeg that was 60k and it made each png over 200k. On a DSL and dial-up connection it rendered the home page unviewable and over 1MB download. Could this be tweaked?

Unfortunately, I felt compelled to write this note. THIS NOTE IS FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS WORDPRESS THEME .

I have to agree with the comments made by another user (cwulff) on here (see bottom of page 1 of the comments here). This wordpress theme is a massive disappointment.

Yes, this theme looks great. That’s why I purchased it. I still think it looks great. But appearance alone doesn’t make up for the other problems …

Unfortunately, the way the theme has been implemented in wordpress is an absolute disaster. As the previous poster cwulff said earlier, there are so many “weird” non-standard things behind-the-scenes in this wordpress implementation.

Specifically, my problems with this theme are as follows:

1) The category and description of this theme is very misleading. This is essentially marketed as a business / portfolio type theme. Unfortunately, the way it has been built in wordpress is more akin to a magazine/news-style blog. Why? Because of the next point.

2) There is a REALLY bizarre reliance on using tagged blog posts instead of widgets. This is especially problematic on the home page. The home page boxes SHOULD be widgets, but they are tagged blog posts instead. Weird, huh? This leads to all sorts of eventual problems that I won’t go into here. Of course, this solution would be fine if this was a blog magazine theme (and hence you would expect that the featured boxes on the home page would link to individual blog posts), but since this is advertised as a business / portfolio theme, this is a completely inappropriate solution.

3) There is NO support for alternative sidebars. Basically, you’re stuck with the same sidebar on EVERY page throughout the website. And there is no way you can modify this easily. This is REALLY annoying, especially considering multiple/alternative sidebars are such a basic feature of a lot of other good themes on here (at least the ones that I have purchased since purchasing this one). In fact, it’s one of the many strengths of wordpress.

4) The blog section of this theme is an absolute disaster. It features no categories or tags. Why? Because those things are tied up with other pages, like the portfolio, home page boxes, etc. It’s an incredible ILLOGICAL method to use for a blog.

5) This theme is VERY difficult to properly customise. As previous posters have mentioned, if you want to do anything beyond what the creators of this theme want you to do (and you’ll want to make changes, believe me), then you’re pretty much stuffed. I am especially referring to the extreme difficulty to customise number 2 and 3 above.

These are just the MAJOR problems I have with this theme. There are other more minor ones I could list here, but I think the focus should be on the above. THESE SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE CREATORS ASAP .

What’s more, I emailed the creators of this theme for “support”, and was very disappointed by their response (responses which really showed a lack of concern, and virtually never answered my questions properly – or often AT ALL ). If you’re planning on buying this theme to develop for a client, I think it is fair to expect that either there will be good support with it, or that the theme will be built in such a way that minimal post-purchase support will be necessary. Unfortunately, neither was the case here. This product is a badly implemented wordpress theme with poor support.

So my suggestion to anyone considering buying this wordpress theme is this: DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR WEBSITE TO LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME (AND FUNCTION THE EXACT SAME WAY ) AS THE DEMO WEBSITE HERE . If you want to make any changes beyond that (eg. widgets on the home page, different sidebars on different pages, or even just a normal BLOG ), then stay away.

I really don’t like writing complaints like this, and it is very rare for me to do so. But this theme could SO easily be AWESOME if the creators URGENTLY addressed the weaknesses mentioned above in their next version of this theme.

Until then, stay away from this one. I ended up having to pay someone else a lot of money to go and rebuild the ENTIRE wordpress implementation of the HTML version of this theme. And, frankly, I’m not too happy about having to do that. I feel somewhat deceived by this theme.

I hope this post helps others avoid the same mistake. And I hope the creators of this theme fix these things urgently.

I have a question regarding the homepage slideshow.

First off, I did as you instructed and changed the code in the general.js file from ‘auto’ to 400, which solved the problem of the slideshow overlapping the text at the bottom of my homepage when I first access the website.

However (and this seems to only occur in Internet Explorer), the individual promo images within the slideshow are still fading very choppily. As each promo image fades to the subsequent image, it quickly shrinks into a tiny rectangle in the upper LH corner of the 940×400 frame, and then the subsequent image expands quickly back out to fill up the entire frame.

Is there a simple way to alter the javascript code to avoid this from occuring?

I cannot get the YouTube gallery to work the same way the demo does.

I get an empty box at the top of the screen, my videos load in new windows on YouTube, and I have a separate page users must navigate to watch the videos from my awebsite.

im having a few issues/questions…

even when I bring in that aligncode nothing changes, I reverted all the CSS back to the stock CSS that came with the template.

now I get huge spacing issues

if I delete all of the css from the server, the text lines up again…

also, even after I delete all CSS from the wp-content/themes/phiworx dir, the bolding is still an issue, which makes me think there’s decelerations of it elsewhere beyond the CSS that somehow override the CSS in that folder?

also, whatever font is used for the headings, how do I add quotation marks and other punctuation in there or just switch the font being used because the current headings will not display any quotations or parenthesis

I’m very close to finally finishing this website and just have these CSS issues to clear up

Hey man love the theme having a problem with the nav bar on the main page though. The drop downs dont allow the user to click them before they disapear.

HI, I am building my site with your theme but the embedded video (player) crashes over 70% of the time, and thats just when i visit own my site (using chrome) On my friend’s computers using Firefox and other browsers, They report it is crashing 100% of the time rendering my site unusable..

Please fix this, it renders the theme completely useless for me if it crashes embedded video or player (the majority of my content) nearly every time. This is a such shame because i LOVE THIS THEME !! =( and bought it with high hopes.

Test it yourself? -Orlastian.com -Click on The Lilian Conquest on the left and then the only video in that category. If it DOES work refresh and it crashes my page for SURE . Also the homepage shows through at this point which is another weird bug Cause now you see the crashed page / player and the homepage =/ at the same time. -Sometimes it fixes it to start from the category all over again and try it fresh. This does not happen with any other theme, so its not my content… I’m not sure whats going on with yours but i really hope you get to the bottom of it. If i cant embed stuff then i simply cant use it at all =(

If not, when in the Blog, how else can you navigate using Categories? ie can you add categories to the Default Navigation in the right-hand column, or does that only consist of Pages? In other words, can the Default Navigation be edited?

I’ve purchased the theme and noticed a problem on the ‘Take the tour’ page with the div that has the class ’.white-box’, the background image is not displaying and there’s an empty \<\p\> tag below it too.

I haven’t attempted to fix this myself yet but thought I’d bring it to your attention.

Flower Great work.. I have a few issues I’m sure you can resolve. I have my slider working properly, thinking of changing to the non-flash version. I have installed the theme and have imported the XML file with the demo content.

1. I need to how to edit the demo content with my own? The testimonials, the buttons, the text on the grey bars.. where do I need to go to edit it.

2. I know this one has been touched on but the portfolio, how do you get the prettyphoto option to work? I am using the first portfolio listed v.4? The thumbnail shows but the larger img does not load after clicking. Not sure where to place the rel=”prettyphoto” to make it work. I noticed on the demo it does the same thing, only one of portfolio opens up properly. whats different about that one compared to the others?
